Disney World officially bans cannabis from its parks
Disney World has just officially banned cannabis from its U.S. parks, according to their official website. While illegal drugs and alcohol have never been allowed inside the magical world of Disney, the addition of «marijuana» comes at a time when several U.S. states have legalized cannabis.
In fact, this could be a result of the passage of the law legalizing medical cannabis in Florida last November, approved by a large majority of residents—more than 70%.
However, this ban raises some questions for medical users, particularly children. In fact, some schools now allow children with a prescription for medical cannabis to have their medication administered on school grounds. To give you an idea of the situation, cannabis is not administered in the form of joints, but rather as cannabis oil or tinctures—most often THC-free products, but packed with CBD.
Children with epilepsy who need their daily medication would therefore no longer be allowed to enter the park with their medication. This is a problem the parks may not have considered.
On a lighter note, Disney could draw the ire of many of its fans who see themselves in some of the cartoon characters who are—to put it mildly—obviously stoners, such as Fillmore the van from *Cars*, the Caterpillar from *Alice in Wonderland*, or Crush from *Finding Nemo*.

The park has not yet clarified whether the ban on cannabis within the Disney World grounds also applies to hotels in the vicinity of the park.
