Addiction occurs when a user can no longer stop using cannabis, even when their use interferes with important aspects of their life. Physically, a excessive cannabis use get them used to cannabinoid receptors from the brain to a constant supply of phytocannabinoid, such as THC. Stopping use will deprive these receptors of phytocannabinoids. As a result, they will have to return to normal endocannabinoid production.
The cannabis withdrawal symptoms are generally mild (irritability, loss of appetite, sleep disturbances) and will take anywhere from 3 days to a few months to subside, depending on the individual and their pattern of use. Conversely, the symptoms of cannabis addiction should serve as a warning to the user or those around them.
Like all drugs, regular or daily use increases the risk of addiction. For a daily smoker, three types of joints are particularly addictive: the morning joint, the midday «digespliff,» and the « bedodo »before going to bed.".
