Boerejongens Centrum is the central showcase of the Boerejongens chain, one of Amsterdam's absolute cannabis references. Located at Utrechtsestraat 21, a stone's throw from Rembrandtplein, the shop's meticulous interior - with its marble floors, brass counters and top-hat reception - is more reminiscent of a luxury pharmacy than a traditional coffeeshop. The regularly award-winning selection mixes varieties from the Amsterdam Genetics range with top-of-the-range imports. The staff undergo two years' training: they are true cannabis sommeliers. Mainly a take-away shop, with a small smoking lounge upstairs. A unique experience that alone justifies the detour.
