Grey Area is an institution. This tiny Jordaan coffeeshop - literally just a few square metres - has been run by Americans since 1993 and has established itself as one of Amsterdam's cult addresses for quality cannabis enthusiasts. Located at Oude Leliestraat 2, it is regularly cited as one of the city's best coffeeshops. The short but sharp selection focuses on American strains and rare genetics. The atmosphere is unique: no fuss, often long queues outside, and friendly, direct service at the counter. Grey Area is a must for any serious amateur visiting Amsterdam.
