Possession of most recreational drugs, including cannabis, is illegal in Poland. Cannabis was classified as a narcotic in 1951, but it wasn't until 1997 that possession and use of cannabis became a crime.
Since 2011, prosecutors have been able to drop charges if the quantity of drugs seized is small.

Which countries in Europe have legalized cannabis?Polish law generally does not allow the cultivation of cannabis containing more than 0.3 % THC.
In accordance with legislative changes that came into force on May 7, 2022, research institutes are now authorized to cultivate cannabis in order to obtain raw material for the preparation of prescription medicines.
It is also possible to import and sell medical cannabis as a pharmaceutical raw material for the preparation of prescription medicines.
Medical cannabis is distributed to patients by pharmacies as a prescription drug, i.e. a medicinal product prepared in a pharmacy on the basis of a medical prescription issued by a doctor.
The production, import and sale of cannabis for recreational use are prohibited in Poland.
Polish law does not provide a list of authorized uses for industrial hemp, but rather a list of sectors for which hemp can be grown: land reclamation and remediation, seeds, food, veterinary care, beekeeping, fertilizers, cellulose and paper, insulation, production of composite materials, construction materials and natural plant protection products...
You can also grow hemp for your own use.
Poland has no regulations on CBD. The applicable legislation only recognizes the difference between cannabis and fibrous hemp based on THC content.
CBD is not a controlled substance, provided it is derived from cannabis containing less than 0.3% THC. CBD is increasingly popular in Poland as a food or cosmetic ingredient.
