Will cannabis be decriminalized in Germany as early as May 1?
In the next few days, the German federal government is due to unveil the direction it intends to take towards legalization. But before that, Germany's Federal Constitutional Court has announced that it will rule on the constitutional status of the cannabis ban. Could all this happen very quickly?

As reported by the German magazine Highway, A reliable source close to the government assures us that cannabis should be decriminalized as a first step, and that cannabis or the whole plant should be removed from the Narcotics Law (BtMG).
Every German citizen would thus be free to grow a small number of plants within their own four walls and transport a certain quantity of cannabis without risk. According to the source, the law change is due to be implemented as early as May 1.
Faced with possible international and national resistance against full legalization, decriminalization, which is not subject to approval, could be a good starting point for Germany before legalizing cannabis completely.
