Canada: Tweed shows at Toronto Fashion Week

The first ever Tweed fashion show lit up the Fashion Week masuline in Toronto last week.

Tweed, one of Canada's largest medical cannabis producers, has forged partnerships with DNA Genetics, Foria or Leafs by Snoop Dogg, decided to explore a new field: fashion.

The cannabic brand took advantage of Toronto Fashion Week to organize a collaborative show with some of Canada's top designers, including Zane Barlas, NICO, Xian, Candace Daniela, Tristan Licud, Rhowan James and others.

Each talent created a look that incorporated tweed (the material this time) and paid homage to the essence of Tweed craftsmanship, high-quality cannabis.

«Tweed is an impressive brand that puts creativity and design at the forefront of fashion,» said Hans Koechling, organizer of Toronto Fashion Week. «The intrinsic similarities between the DNA of each designer's concept and its manufacture, to create each garment with an individual creative direction, are unprecedented.»

38 looks were shown, with a backdrop of beautiful trimmed cannabis flowers. The models captured the evolution of stoner style, from the old cliché of the guy in pajamas on his couch to the dynamic executive in white suit and trench coat.

It's enough to give ideas for Karl Lagarfeld's next show at the Grand Palais.
