Alpha-CAT: the KIT test that determines the effect of cannabis
Alpha-cat is a research laboratory founded by Sébastien Béguerie, a researcher specializing in the study of cannabis, and co-founder of the Francophone Union for Cannabinoids in Medicine (UFCM) I care.
This business leader's approach has remained crystal clear from the very beginning of his journey: to promote the therapeutic and holistic use of cannabis by offering simple solutions for monitoring it. Alpha-CAT, also known in the United States as «Cannatest,» is an analytical method sold as a test kit that detects and quantifies the cannabinoid content in cannabis.
The test, available in two kit versions, allows individuals to perform their own tests at home. Simply mix a 0.1-gram sample of any cannabis-derived product (flowers, resin, extract, oil, baked goods) in a tube with 1 milliliter of solvent, apply one microliter per sample to a white test strip, which, after development, indicates the levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabidiol (CBD) and whether or not there are 4 others cannabinoids in the sample tested.
The test kit is based on the chemical process of thin-layer chromatography (TLC), a technique that separates the chemical components contained in solutions. The different-colored spots and their sizes that appear on the spectrum indicate the chemical components of your weed.
The rates of THC and CBD are identified by a position and a color code explained in the instructions. Generally, the section representing THC (in red) is often the largest, for “marijuana,” which is most commonly consumed by inhalation among cannabis users. In other cases, CBD will be present without THC, as in industrial hemp or industrial hemp. The test kit is designed to measure the visible THC and CBD spots using rulers that measure the % corresponding to the diameter of the visible spots. Each kit includes both THC and CBD rulers to determine the respective amounts of cannabinoids in the tested sample.
The kits are available in two versions at very competitive prices: the MINI kit, which allows you to perform up to 8 tests for €89, and the REGULAR kit, an advanced version that allows you to perform up to 40 tests for €329—at a cost of about €10 per test.
This technology is becoming increasingly widespread thanks to Advances in Medical Cannabis and new risk-reduction policies. Alpha-CAT counts among its testers, in particular, Jorge Cervantes, the High Times Cannabis Cup, and the world's largest seed banks.
Countries such as the’Germany, theItaly, the Czech Republic, are becoming increasingly open to medical cannabis. The heated debates sparked by the introduction of this medicinal plant into European hospitals and pharmacies highlight the importance and necessity of being able to monitor the THC and CBD levels in cannabis-based products sold on the market. This solution could address that need while enabling continuous monitoring of industrial-scale cultivation.
As a special offer, Alpha-CAT has created a discount code so you can try its test kit throughout the month of May: ACATMAY20 Please enter this when placing your order at http://www.alpha-cat.org/
