How big is the world's largest joint?
In the series of cannabis records, we ask the world's largest joint.
Rolling joints is an art in its own right. Some people even charge for it. several thousand dollars for custom seals, while others accompany the biggest rappers on their tours, with their only job being to roll their joints.
But the world's biggest joint was certainly rolled in Massachusetts, during the Harvest Cup in 2017. This cannabis competition brought together numerous growers competing in various categories (flowers, edibles, concentrates, solvent-free extracts, oils and tinctures, creams), as well as the production of a seal for 30 meters long.
Keith Laham, the lovable madman behind this performance, said he had been preparing for several months leading up to this attempt.
«It's impossible to roll a 30-meter joint using just a single sheet of paper and putting the weed on top of it. But when it's done in sections and with several teams, it's possible.»
A total of 40 people helped roll this joint, which required 1 kg of weed and more than 200 m² of rolling paper. The rolling was finished at 4:20 p.m., which isn't really a surprise.
The only question left after rolling it was, «How do we smoke it?» Andrew Mutty, who also helped create the world’s longest joint, had suggested cutting it into several pieces. That kind of takes away from the point of rolling such a big one.
However, there’s little chance of seeing this record in the Guinness Book of World Records, since cannabis is illegal in the United Kingdom.
Massachusetts has legalized cannabis in November 2016. Any adult may possess up to 280 grams of cannabis at home and up to 28 grams on their person. However, the use of cannabis in public places is prohibited.
