The PQE Group publishes its 2024 Sustainability Report
This is the second consecutive report published by the Company; the document covers all of its global operations
FLORENCE, Italy–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The PQE Group is pleased to announce the completion and publication of its 2024 Sustainability Report. This marks an important milestone for the Company: it is its second report and the first to cover all of its global operations. Unlike the previous 2023 edition, which covered only its Italian subsidiary, this document provides an overview of the Company’s sustainability strategy and impact across the 23 countries where it operates. Its publication is in line with the European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which requires large companies to disclose detailed information on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues in a standardized, transparent, and comparable format.
This requirement, which reflects the EU’s firm commitment to aligning economic activities with climate and social objectives, is implemented through national legislation based on directives adopted by the European Commission, the European Parliament, and the Council. Developed by the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) and known as the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), the technical standards underpinning this reporting are designed to help companies assess and disclose their impact on the world and the risks that sustainability challenges pose to their operations.
The PQE report begins with a materiality analysis conducted in accordance with the ESRS and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) frameworks. This process, which involved stakeholders, helped identify the ESG issues most important to the Company.
With regard to the environment, the PQE Group has fully and transparently disclosed its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in accordance with the ISO 14064-1:2019 standard. These emissions are broken down into: direct Scope 1 emissions; indirect Scope 2 emissions (electricity); and indirect Scope 3 emissions (primarily related to business travel). These detailed figures clearly illustrate the PQE Group’s progress toward a lower carbon footprint.
From a social perspective, the Company provided numerous training sessions on inclusive language, DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion), and professional development, while ensuring safe work environments and equitable career advancement opportunities. Performance evaluations and employee feedback processes were systematized and expanded, and more than 2,200 internal interviews were conducted in 2024.
In terms of governance, the PQE Group has strengthened its commitment to ethical business practices through training, due diligence on partners, and the launch of new initiatives such as the Legality Rating app.
Regulatory compliance has become a cornerstone of stakeholder trust. By publishing reports in accordance with CSRD and ESRS standards, the PQE Group reaffirms its commitment to conducting its business not only in compliance with the law, but also in a fully ethical and transparent manner.
« Whereas the European Union requires companies to publish, starting in 2025, documents certifying their compliance with European legislation and EFR guidelines A G, I am proud that the PQE Group took the initiative to begin drafting, as early as 2023, a Sustainability Report highlighting its sustainability achievements in Italy, and now, for 2024, its Global Sustainability Report », said Gilda D’Incerti, CEO and founder of the PQE Group. « This is a large-scale project that involves collecting a considerable amount of data on our Company, its employees, its certifications, its governance, and its sustainability initiatives, among other things. The results presented in this comprehensive document demonstrate the significant work that PQE has carried out and continues to carry out to ensure that the Company maintains a constant focus on sustainability, rigorous ethics, and merit-based fairness—for Europe and beyond.»
