He made the announcement at the Hall of Flowers, a cane trade show in Santa Rosa, California, where he exhibited products in preview. The brand will be officially launched on July 4, the rapper's 24th birthday. It will be called Shaboink and will include a range of THC- and CBD-based products, pre-rolled joints as well as accessories, rolling paper, grinders and vaporizers. The flowers will be grown and packaged by the brand Hemper which already sells its products to dispensaries in California.

Although he has apparently stopped smoking cannabis himself - according to a 2017 interview on RadioPlanet.tv - the rapper being a staunch supporter of cannabis legalization in California. Back in 2016, he told TMZ, «It's good for everyone. Cannabis is good for everybody. Nobody dies from it. People die every day for driving under the influence.».
In any case, he won't be the first or last US rapper to launch his own cannabis brand. Besides Snoop Dogg and his cannabis investment fund, Casa Verde Capital, and Method Man and Redman, the undisputed stars of How High, the new generation of rappers has largely taken over. Post Malone joins a long list that includes Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross, Soulja Boy, The Game and the Migos.
