The History of Big Buddha Seeds
Yung has dedicated himself to preserving and improving the breed's genetics. According to legend, Milo acquired the famous cut Exodus in 2002. He used a high-yielding male Afghan from his collection to cross with a female Cheese clone. Milo collected a number of these seeds, nurtured them, and then hand-selected a particularly robust male.
The original strain, which would later become known as 'Exodus Cheese,» was selected from »Original Skunk' seeds (also known as Skunk #1), cultivars from Sam the Skunkman's collection.
After five generations of selective breeding, Milo finally produced a version of Cheese that was an almost perfect replica of the original Exodus cut. In 2005, Big Buddha Seeds introduced the first commercially available stabilized Cheese seed. This was a game-changer for the cannabis industry, as it allowed growers to cultivate Cheese more easily and consistently.
Big Buddha Cheese Wins the 2006 High Times Cannabis Cup
The hard work and dedication of Milo, who called himself «Big Buddha,» eventually paid off.
In 2006, Big Buddha Cheese won the High Times Cannabis Cup for Best Indica, cementing its place among the world’s most beloved strains. Milo’s legacy lives on through his contribution to the cannabis community, and his dedication to perfecting Cheese will always be remembered as a pivotal moment in cannabis history.
His breeding techniques have produced some of the most sought-after strains in the world, and his seed bank remains a valuable resource for breeders and growers. Yung has created many iconic strains that are still popular today, including the famous Chiesel, Blue Cheese, and Buddha Haze.
Messages poured in from all over the world to honor his memory.
