Deuwi, Official Clothing Dealer!

Today, we’re interviewing Manik, the founder of Deuwi! Here at Légalisation Douce, we love projects like this, so it was only natural that we’d have a chance to chat with him.
Hi Manik, How long ago did you launch Deuwi?
Deuwi is a brand-new brand that has only been around for a few months. It took a significant amount of time to get it off the ground (INPI registration, website, T-shirt prototypes, marketing, collaborations, etc.).
Why did you decide to launch this brand?
I really wanted to start a brand, and since the name is so important, it took me a long time to find one that matched my brand’s identity.
What’s more, I’ve wanted to start my own clothing brand for a very long time! I’m also the owner of VenteDeYeuf, where I sell rolling papers for a brand created by two friends of mine: YEUF. I also own other online stores.
What does the brand mean to you?
Deuwi means a lot to me. It’s part of my work; I’m a born entrepreneur, and the passion I put into my projects allows me to make a living and travel.
We took a chance—while staying true to our culture—to make our mark in the market by offering innovations all year round as well as limited editions…
Right now, there are T-shirts in your shop, but do you plan to add other items?
I run a web design agency and am busy with a lot of other projects, so I’m giving myself about two years to fully develop all the initial collections (T-shirts, sweatshirts, beanies, caps, etc.), but that doesn’t mean I can’t start selling yet.
Do you already have any partnerships?
Deuwi's first collaboration is with the YEUF brand. We offer the entire collection in our online store, and the products align perfectly with the vision we want to bring to the brand.
Can you tell us a little more about your T-shirts?
The first series of T-shirts are made of 100% cotton and are available for men and women in several colors, each featuring the Deuwi logo centered on the front. In the future, the goal is to also offer T-shirts featuring designs created in collaboration with various artists.
Let's talk about… cannabis! What connection did you want to draw between this and Deuwi?
The challenge was to find a word that meant something to people while still staying within the law.
Are you a consumer yourself?
I've been a consumer for about ten years.
In favor of legalizing cannabis?
Whether for recreational or, of course, medical purposes, I support the legalization of cannabis; it would greatly reduce the problems faced by millions of people, young and old alike. The funds currently spent on the war on cannabis could be put to much better use.
What if it became legal tomorrow? What would you do?
If cannabis becomes legal tomorrow, that doesn’t necessarily mean I’ll get into genetics, since I’m personally fascinated by the cultivation of this plant with its many benefits. In any case, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to invest in this niche market.
Thank you to Manik for this interview. If you have a project of your own, please don't hesitate to contact us!
