Cannadips: chewable cannabis
The Californian company Cannadips has developed a chewable cannabis based on the Swedish snus. It's not cannabis chewing gum, but chewable cannabis. The effect is almost immediate, as the chemists employed by Cannadips have perfected a way of making cannabinoids soluble in water and therefore in saliva, with an increased speed of action compared with edibles conventional: less than 10 minutes versus 1/2 hour or even an hour.
All about Cannadips
«We grew up in Santa Cruz, California, which is considered the surf city. In the surfing community, the majority of men chew tobacco. It's a ritual. But it's very addictive and not good for your health. So we're looking for a solution. Something that people can use to help them stop chewing tobacco or use as a substitute. That was our original idea. We didn't know at the time that there was much more to it than that: we were developing a delivery system [for the cannabinoids. much more efficient,» explains Case Mandel, co-founder of Cannadips.
When developing their dips, The founders of Cannadips set out to create an effective and biologically rapid way of consuming cannabinoids. Normally, cannabinoids are fat-soluble and are consumed either by combustion or in food. The former has harmful effects on the lungs, and the latter is slow, as it requires cannabinoids to be metabolized by the liver. In Cannadips, cannabinoids are dissolved by saliva and then absorbed through the mucous membranes, passing directly into the bloodstream via the oral artery to the brain.
Cannadips has developed three different flavours: mint, citrus and «American» with THC or the CBD. Cannadips come in small sachets and contain coconut fiber, monk fruit (a natural sweetener), essential oils and 150 mg of THC or CBD in tincture form. At present, THC Cannadips are only available in California.
