PSAC to be present as an agricultural sector at the Salon de l'Agriculture 2024
For the first time in its history, the French Association of Cannabinoid Producers (AFPC) is participating in the 2024 Salon de l’Agriculture, which is being held from February 24 to March 3 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.
This entry into the agricultural sector not only underscores the emergence of industrial hemp as a legitimate industry, but also its quest for recognition and standardization within the industry. The AFPC’s presence also signals the industry’s maturation, marking a shift from a niche market to widespread recognition.
«At the heart of our involvement is the pursuit of standardization,» Guillaume Guieu, vice president of the AFPC, told us. «We are seeking to establish legislation tailored to our industry, positioning the active-ingredient hemp sector as a genuine agricultural sector deserving of fair treatment and consideration.».
Like a a reflection of his demands, the AFPC’s presence at the Salon de l’Agriculture demonstrates the sector’s commitment to organizing itself and raising the standards of French producers and products. By advocating for regulatory frameworks aligned with its specific needs and aspirations, the sector aims to foster an environment conducive to growth and innovation, while prioritizing public health and safety.
Furthermore, given the economic challenges facing many French farmers, the cultivation of industrial hemp offers a ray of hope, providing a promising path to sustainable income generation. The resilience and adaptability of hemp and cannabinoid-rich hemp represent a welcome opportunity for struggling farming communities.
You can find the AFPC in Pavilion 2.2, «Crops and Plant Sectors,» at booth number E029.
