UK: The biggest weed study is coming - Here's how to take part
Every year, the Global Drug Survey (GDS), conducted by the organization of the same name, takes the temperature of international drug use. This year, it joins forces with the organization UK Cannabis Social Clubs, the umbrella organization for best practice in cannabis clubs in the UK, to obtain even more data on cannabis consumption.
GDS surveys are designed to facilitate an «honest conversation» about drug use and addiction. This year, GDS is teaming up with UK Cannabis Clubs for a special focus on cannabis and CBD use in the UK, calling the survey «the largest ever study of cannabis in the UK».
«We rarely do two studies at the same time at GDS,» reads the UKCSCs website. «But such is the acceleration and deluge of investor funding and interest in the UK cannabis market (both legal and medical), that GDS felt it was really important to get a sense of what's currently happening in the UK, to inform future policy and clinical guidelines and ensure that the voice of the regular consumer is heard. We haven't always had that opportunity.»
The survey, which you can answer by clicking here, is completely anonymous. It does not store respondents' private data, such as IP addresses or names. Estimated time to complete the survey is approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
Here are some examples of questions asked:
- How are the different types of cannabis products evolving and how are they being used in the UK?
- How do people use CBD and how do they find it effective?
- The experiences of Cannabis Social Club members in the UK
- How do people currently use cannabis for medical/therapeutic purposes, where does it come from, how much do they pay for it, what condition do they use it for, how do they use it, what are the benefits, what are the effects on other treatments they may have tried, problems encountered, have they tried to get it prescribed by a GP or to a specialist since the Medical Cannabis Act was passed in the UK?
In addition, the major annual GDS Drug Survey, separate from the current UK Cannabis Survey, will take place in November 2019. The survey draws on data from 30 countries and will be translated into 18 languages.
You can find the latest survey here on the GDS website.
