Opening of the Hemp Embassy in Vienna
Austria has neither decriminalized nor legalized cannabis. Yet a month ago, the company Bushplanet opened the Hemp Embassy in Vienna. As stated on its website:
»In 1998, Bushplanet has become the first company in Austria to Produce and Sell Cannabis Cuttings. It was highly controversial at the time and led to numerous raids and suspended prison sentences. Nevertheless, we paved the way for significant progress, and since then, cuttings have continued to be produced by various suppliers. In the meantime, court rulings have confirmed that cannabis cuttings can be legally produced and sold.».
The goal of the Hemp Embassy is to showcase the diversity of cannabis plants. Visitors can view seven different varieties of cannabis, at different stages of growth. The plants are grown under grow lights, behind clear display cases, in which a small opening has been cut to allow the various aromas to be enjoyed.
Currently being grown are Pineapple Skunk seeds from Humboldt Seed, from the Northern Lights Sensi Seeds, CBD Kush from Medical Strain, OG White Widow from Paradise Seeds, White Widow from White Label, and Critical+ from Dinafem.
After each flowering cycle, the plants are bagged and sent to be incinerated under notarial supervision, as cannabis use is prohibited in Austria.
A good Ideas for a weekend trip to Vienna !
