Mike Tyson reportedly smokes $40,000 worth of cannabis on his ranch every month
In Monday's episode of his podcast, titled « Hotboxing with Mike Tyson«, the former heavyweight champion revealed that he spends 40,000$ (35,000€) a month on cannabis. This astonishing amount also includes the consumption of his employees and friends who visit him at his ranch. Since he reportedly sells about 500,00$ of his production every month, this means his consumption accounts for 8 % of his monthly income from his own production. After all, if you want something done right, do it yourself.
Shortly after the California laws took effect on recreational cannabis in 2018, He launched the Tyson Ranch. Convinced of the benefits of cannabis, the star had a luxury complex built on 164 hectares of land in a desert in Southern California, which includes a large hotel, a research center, and a small private university. The cultivation areas on his ranch grow nine cannabis varieties, concentrates, and soon edible products. In addition to the production facilities, this luxury complex includes a plant that packages the edibles, an amphitheater, and «glamping» campsites.
«I thought about all the good I could do by helping people with cannabis. It was a no-brainer,» said the boxer. «I’ve had two surgeries; I use marijuana to calm my nerves and ease the pain,» «Iron Mike» revealed. Before cannabis, doctors had put the former boxer «on opioids, and that really messed him up.’ He therefore wants to raise public awareness about its healing properties, particularly those of CBD.
In 2016, Mike Tyson had already entered the cannabis market through his company, Tyson Holistic Holdings. «Cannabis is the future, and sooner or later, everyone will have to admit it,» Tyson concluded.
