Catch: WWE's 90% reportedly uses CBD
In a recent interview, Fred Rosser—formerly known as Darren Young in WWE, one of the professional wrestling leagues in the United States—estimated that 90% of wrestlers use CBD.
«90% uses CBD. 90% from the cast. Yes, I’m sure of it. I’m sure of it because when I was there, I used CBD. I had concussions; they knocked me out several times. And when you have to travel from city to city, covering 500 kilometers, I just couldn’t do it. So CBD helped me.»
«It helped me with my anxiety and those long road trips with Titus O’Neil, Sheamus, and Mark Henry. I love these guys because they supported me when I came out. They made it easier for me to fit in in the locker room. So, yeah, I’m trying to get into the CBD business, baby.».
The WWE has a fairly strict «well-being» policy. Any violation involving the use of a banned substance results in a 30-day suspension. However, when it comes to cannabis, WWE is more flexible. If a wrestler tests positive for THC, they are only fined 2,500$; they are not suspended, and no announcement is made to the public. This may be related to the drug use of the company’s president, Vince McMahon, who is said to have even smoked a joint in front of Donald Trump during a concert at Trump Plaza in New Jersey?
In an interview, Enzo Amore, another superstar wrestler, estimated that more than half the locker room smoked marijuana.
Daren Young isn't the only wrestler to venture into the CBD market. Former wrestling superstar Bobby Lashley, for example, is partnering with Pure Spectrum, an American CBD brand.
