First batch recall for therapeutic cannabis trials
Just over a week after the launch of medical cannabis trials, This first batch recall follows a number of incidents reported to the French National Agency for the Safety of Medicines (ANSM).
According to our information, the product in question, distributed by French laboratory Medipha, is the oral solution (10% THC / 10% CBD) from Canadian producer Tilray, a full-spectrum oil containing 10 mg/mL THC and 10 mg/mL CBD, which is said to be leaking from the bottle cap.
The recall will take place shortly, and the drug can no longer be prescribed for the time being. To avoid any further delay in the start of the trial, the batch's secondary supplier - Australian cannabis producer Little Green Pharma in partnership with French pharmaceutical company Intsel Chimos - is set to take over.
The same product had already suffered recalls as part of Germany's medical cannabis program, this time due to too low a THC content compared to what was labeled.
When contacted, Tilray did not respond to our request.
