325 out of 3,000 patients included in medical cannabis trial
On March 26, Olivier Véran launched with great fanfare and in front of the cameras the experimentation of medical cannabis in France.
An important milestone in the project, it remained to be seen how the various operational phases would unfold, from patient inclusion to professional training and product access.
According to our information, 2 months after the launch, 325 people out of the planned 3,000 have been included in the trial. At the time of measurement, the breakdown of patients by pathology was as follows:
| Indications | Distribution | At 2 months |
| Neuropathic pain | 750 | 140 |
| Drug-resistant epilepsy | 500 | 79 |
| Oncology | 500 | 24 |
| Palliative situation | 500 | 13 |
| Painful spasticity | 750 | 69 |
A new Scientific Committee to monitor the experiment
The creation of a Scientific Committee Will the temporary agreement signed this week by the ANSM to monitor the experimentation of cannabis for medical use speed up the roll-out of the experiment?
Nicolas Authier, Chairman of this Committee, explains that «it has always been planned to set up a follow-up committee, even before the previous one was completed. This will enable us to adapt the conditions of the experiment on various points (register, patient quotas, training, products, etc.)».
However, the pace of inclusion is unlikely to change. «The Covid health crisis isn't over yet, and research projects are also being relaunched... so some professionals, although motivated, haven't had the time to get started. But we didn't expect to fill all 3,000 places in 3 months,» explains Nicolas Authier.
«Summer is coming too, so let's give ourselves more time to get things right. The success of the experiment does not lie in the speed of patient inclusion. Let's give ourselves until the end of the year. The aim is to build for the future with serenity.»
According to the Professor, who was already head of the of the various committees responsible for preparing the experiment, «several hundred healthcare professionals have already been trained in a first wave, mainly in hospitals, and over the next few months we will gradually see a second wave of training in the private sector as part of the organization of prescription relays in private ambulatory medicine».»
As for the availability of flowers, which are currently unavailable due to a lack of vaporizers, they «should probably be available in the course of the summer with the vaporization device selected by the agency. But this will not hinder inclusion in the trial».

When you live the figures and read« Summer is coming too, so let's give ourselves more time to get things right. The success of the experiment does not lie in the speed of patient inclusion. Let's give ourselves until the end of the year.»
Palliative care and oncology patients can certainly wait.
It's pathetic - here in France. 50 years late, we're not even a year behind...

Medical cannabis? Is that the new name for «therapeutic» cannabis? Will we soon have to change the name of this GMO... cannabis jouvence? Indeed, this plant is genetically modified not to contain THC, without which its curative efficacy is greatly reduced.
While this denatured version of the plant is suitable for a small percentage of sufferers, it is not suitable for other, far more serious pathologies such as cancers and tumors, which THC cheerfully destroys when the THC/CBD balance is naturally proportionate. Clearly, this degraded cannabis will not be as popular a success as natural cannabis! What's more, the natural cannabis trade is listed on the Wall Street stock exchange, and Europe (including France) will soon have to share in this global market. It is through this «bond» that France will have to legalize natural cannabis (too), putting an end to this despicable anti-democratic prohibition (at last), and no longer serving as an electoral prop for the neo-fascist politicians who have been in power for the last three decades...
