The’Alaska was the third U.S. state to legalize cannabis, after Colorado and Washington, but the first to allow cannabis consumption at the point of sale, although no establishments are currently authorized to do so. Legal recreational sales began in November 2016. Medical cannabis has been permitted in Alaska since 2007.
