Amsterdam: The Green House Kitchen, the restaurant for smokers
A new restaurant concept is coming to Amsterdam that combines small plates with cannabis: The Green House Kitchen. Each table is equipped with its own vaporizer.
The Green House Kitchen is an invention by a Dutch cannabis magnate Arjan Roskam. If your arrival on the Thalys and your first visit to a coffeeshop have left you feeling a little hungry, the restaurant is located just about a ten-minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal Station. Located at 62 Haarlemmerstraat, the restaurant is situated on one of Amsterdam’s streets with the highest concentration of coffeeshops. It’s right next to The Green House Coffeeshop, which is also owned by Arjan Roskam.
The restaurant is not allowed to sell cannabis, so you must bring your own supply with you. However, Green House Kitchen provides aromatic herbs such as lemongrass, chamomile, and rosemary in porcelain bowls.
The restaurant allows all adults to use vaporizers. Since there is no odor, you can vape even if children are present in this public space (although we do not recommend bringing your children inside). The management at Green House Kitchen is working to raise customer awareness about the use of vaporizers by partnering with Vaposhop, a technology that is less harmful than the widely used rolled joint with tobacco. The more adventurous can mix Super Silver Haze or Blueberry Skunk with aromatic herbs in the vaporizer to discover new flavors.
About the Menu, fruit and vegetable lovers are in for a treat, for between 25 and 30€. The owners emphasize the quality and freshness of their products, which are sourced from the Dutch countryside. We also recommend making a reservation before you go if you want to be sure to get a seat.
As authorities in each European country begin to address the issue of medical cannabis, leaders in the cannabis industry are diversifying to offer different ways to use the drug.
